File this away as an administrative announcement, but all Coast Guard Auxiliarists take note that the paperwork to log and report hours to your information services officer has changed pretty significantly with the start of the new year. A new form has been posted online at http://forms.cgaux.org/forms.html - it is optional for use submitting December hours, but apparently mandatory for any hours January 1 onward. A sample portion is shown here, and additional instructions are available online, but the key changes for this new system are:
- Non-mission (so anything administrative, training, travel, etc) time no longer needs to be broken out and reported as individual events;
- Instead, time is reported under one of five categories - Leadership, RBS Support, MS Support, Training Support, and Admin/Logistical Support.
Looks like no change at this point to reporting actual mission hours.
This looks like a great change that will bring some simplicity to all of our lives AND will allow the Coast Guard to report non-mission hours to Congress in one of five buckets, as opposed to just reporting it all as "admin." Hopefully this will provide some greater visibility into our mission support requirements.
